Best known for his challenging 'body art' Franko B was born in Milan and has lived in London since 1979. He has been creating work across video, photography, performance, painting, installation, sculpture and mixed media since 1990. He has performed and exhibited his work worldwide, and lectures widely. Having discontinued bleeding in performances, his recent work includes large scale paintings, two of which are shown in the PARANOIA exhibition at the Freud Museum. Introduced by Predrag Pajdic, curator of PARANOIA.

hello , forgot to say that i drove to italy with my friend carlos and come back with susie snozie.
it was a bit crasy both time , but on the way back it was more crasy has snozie was keeping telling me how to drive especialy since she has fell her text 3 time ,. apart this it was good to drive back with her as i would have gone mad on my own..

dear all is been a while , i was in italy for 2 weeks to finissh some work [ painting for my exibhition in milano , the open is on the 16 and my new book BLINDED BY LOVE should also be there . then down to rome for a book launch and performance on the 21 22 november and then a dj gig , possibly , not yet confirmed ..
here some pics .. fro the last 2 weeks . beuy loved it . we drove to italy via swizerland and had a incident near the gottard pass , got the car fixed in verona , it was my fault but the other driver was a wanker , and din't really do much damage to his lorry . italy was good as long i was busy , ,

Commencing in 2007, Boot Print will serve as a bulletin board of cogitations, initiatives and information. Published by artists, Boot Print welcomes contributions that choose to discuss Art beyond the known institutional walls, geographical art centers, and parameters of the Artdome.

Boot Print invites contributors from all art corners of the world to illuminate the art activities, projects, theories, and convictions responsible for affecting you on a personal, political, socioeconomic or cultural level.

Boot print will consider: interviews, articles, reviews, critiques, researches, prose, caustic cartoons, and anecdotes. All this and more are wanted and appreciated. Boots Contemporary Art Space is an art-laboratory on the south side of Saint Louis, Missouri. Located in the historic Antique Row District on Cherokee Street, this shotgun brick building was once a shoe repair shop in the early 1900's. The fading images of boots on the storefront served as the inspiration for the name.

As an artist run space our mission is to provide emerging to mid-career artists and curators, local, national, and international, with an art lab that will support them in creating and showcasing new work. The Universal Symbol for Emptiness, Los Angeles
Curated by Calvin Phelps - fall 2006

If emptiness can be defined as "an experience of being without, of not having," then we have all, in our lives, experienced a form of emptiness. It is arguably a presupposed position starting from our birth and a state that we attempt to fill with experience throughout our lives. The state of emptiness is a point of beginning in both Eastern thought and Christianity, and can be seen alternatively as the ideal point of spaciousness and freedom or the point of crisis, deficiency and oppressiveness.

In psychoanalysis, C.G. Jung's concept of the collective unconscious refers to the part of a person's unconscious that is common to all people. Jung theorized that particular symbolic subject matter do exist across all cultures, through all time, and in every person. Is emptiness an unconscious part of us that can have a representative archetype? If so, what is it and how can it be depicted?

This exhibition tries to answer these questions, while raising more provocative ones. The work in this exhibition does not simply evoke the personal- psychoanalytical artists' response to trauma or loss, but looks at the various forms the void of emptiness can and does take.

Bruce Gallery, Edinboro University, PA

The Bruce Gallery is a non-profit art space located on the ground floor of Doucette Hall on the campus of Edinboro University. It is funded through the Edinboro Student Government Association (SGA), with additional funding from the Edinboro Art Department and the Erie Council on the Arts. On average the gallery sponsors seven shows per academic year ranging from group shows to solo exhibitions of both emerging and established artists. We also accommodate our local and university population with annual faculty and student exhibitions and a juried high school exhibition on a biannual basis.

We provide a valuable service to the Northwestern Pennsylvania region via the introduction and exhibition of national-caliber artists. As our own art department is quite large, with an enrollment of 1,000 students, we are interested in an eclectic mixture of media and artistic expressions. Artists are chosen at the discretion of the gallery's director and the Bruce Gallery Board and an open “Call for Submissions” is posted annually. The 07/08 entry deadline is November 30, 2006 (postmarked).

The Bruce Gallery of Edinboro University is seeking qualified emerging and established artists for solo or small (2-3 person) exhibitions of our Board's compilation in the 2007/08exhibition season. The city is paved with pixels, the flow of traffic becomes the flow of bits, the flow of people, the flow of electrons. Streets and circuit diagrams become meshed. The race has begun.

Each one of us becomes a player in the game of the city, furiously manipulating the control pad, tapping buttons, flicking switches. Leaping from platforms, scaling the walls – the concrete/media playground is before us.

Hurtling around corners, lunging up surfaces, shooting through the streets. Join the rush and surge of the city, find new ways to play the game.

Trampoline invites you to participate in ‘Urban Play’ a one day event held on 23rd November in Nottingham, UK. Its objective is to merge video gaming, art and design with the investigation of the city space. The structures of the city are increasingly pervaded by new media with screens, cctv, electronic networks, mobile devices, implements often designed to control our movement through urban space and even to remove us from our surroundings. We wish to investigate how new media can form an even tighter relationship with our immediate environment – challenge and subvert its conventional structures – hacking the city.

What we are looking for:
We are searching for work which explores urban space and methods of play, in particular projects which combine these areas in examining and utilising new media elements of the city. We invite you to submit proposals of urban games, creative computer games, video, interactive installation, audio guides, sound, music and performance – exploring play, gaming, new media and the city. We especially encourage the submission of participatory works which promote a high degree of audience involvement – this includes informal exploratory workshops as well as completed projects.

Created in the spring of 1997 through a donation from Daniel Langlois, the Daniel Langlois Foundation for Art, Science, and Technology is a private, non-profit charitable organisation with international activities.

The Foundation aims to further artistic and scientific knowledge and understanding. Through its actions, it seeks to bring art and science closer together within a technological context. On the one hand, the Foundation nurtures a critical awareness of the impact of technology on human beings and their natural and cultural environments. On the other hand, it promotes the exploration of aesthetics suited for environments shaped by human beings.

The Foundation’s programs are designed to further learning among individuals, groups and organisations in order to promote new knowledge and new uses of digital media and information technology.

For the Foundation, the concept of knowledge is based on interactions among researchers, artists, scientists and other individuals, as well as organisations who are both the source and recipients of various forms of knowledge. Pathogeographies (or, other people’s baggage), Feel Tank Chicago
“At the Edge” series, Gallery 400, University of Illinois at Chicago

Feel Tank is a Chicago collective that’s been taking the emotional temperature of the body politic for four years. We are now investigating the making of that temperature. We’re interested in the political potential of “bad feelings” like hopelessness, apathy, anxiety, fear, and numbness. For Pathogeographies, we’re also interested in other people’s baggage. The term “pathogeography” is modeled on the Situationists’ psychogeography but substitutes pathos (feeling) for psyche (the soul) to emphasize the emotional investments and ephemeral experiences circulating throughout the political and cultural landscape. We invite other collectives and individuals—artists and non-artists alike—to create “suitcases“ (real or imagined) carrying tools to create, collect, and record political/emotional scenes. Projects will take place in the city of Chicago and elsewhere. We ask only that you return something from your project to the gallery to be inspected, collated, discussed, distributed, and diverted to new uses. How do you carry your pile of political feelings, and how do you want to encourage others to carry theirs? We want to foment exuberant political imaginaries. To this end, we call on you, your ideas, energy, and participation.

The project will function in four parts: Raw Material, Moving Company, Slow Feeling, and the Body Politic. Raw Material will be a site in the gallery—a location where people can gather, discuss, brainstorm and work—and the aggregation of materials/tools that participants will bring and that Feel Tank will provide. Moving Company extends the project out into the pathopolitical world, as participants wander through the city or direct themselves to specific destinations, carrying suitcases/toolkits to make scenes and produce situations, conversations, and interventions. Slow Feeling, a space in the gallery, will include small temporary exhibitions, video screenings, memory banks and archives, a reading room, and an audio tent. Body Politic concludes the project, manifesting as projects in the gallery and as public happenings that coalesce and articulate the results of individual and collaborative projects/research. The project begins March 6-9 and reconvenes in and out of the gallery June 15-July 7. It will conclude July 4- 7, 2007 with the longawaited Fifth Annual International Parade of the Politically Depressed.

A suitcase may be large or small, real or conceptual. We define a suitcase as a container of any shape for a collection of tools, objects, instructions, necessities, and/or ideas that you want to activate. It might also contain emotional baggage, ripe for unpacking. Ideally, a suitcase will be accompanied by a willingness to carry out and document a Moving Company project for which it provides the tools. (These projects need not take place in Chicago.) It might contain Raw Material that visitors to the gallery can use as they wish. It might also, simply, be a list of instructions. a) New Works Residencies 2007

The Harvestworks Artist In Residence Program offers commissions of up to $4000 to make a new work in our state of the art digital media facility. Each artist receives a $700 fee with the balance of the award posted in a' "facilities account" which is used to manage and produce the work. The artist works with a team comprised of a project manager, engineer and programmer (if required).

New works may include the creation of a new video work with a surround sound audio mix, audio recording and mastering of a surround sound piece, the creation of a new web art work and the development of a live interactive music/video/installation system using Max/MSP/Jitter. Up to 12 residencies will be selected (depending on project size and funding) along with two alternates in the event any resident artist cannot participate. Priority will be given to the creative use of the Harvestworks' production facility and the innovative use of sound and/or picture. Emerging artists and artists of color are encouraged to apply.

b) VanLier Residency 2007 for Young Digital Media Artists

Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center is offering two Van Lier Internships to eligible young digital media artists at the post- graduate level living in New York City. Each internship carries a stipend of $6,000 and a $4,000 facilities account to create work in the Harvestworks audio and multi-media studios.

Artists are expected to create a new work in our studios and interface with our staff on career development and community projects. Projects are expected to take six months to one year.

Funded by the Van Lier Foundation of the New York Community Trust, the internships are intended to advance the professional development of post-graduate digital media artists who have few financial and technical resources, and to promote diversity, equity and access in the arts.

where to start . quaet a bit on , not going out much but just for work , which is cool as im busy and i don't have much energies at t the moment , i was suppose to go to see my friend bambi playng last nigth but i was too naked even to do that ,[ sorry bambi] went to his house for a barbye last sunday .

very occupaited with the new book on my work called BLINDED BY LOVE due to be plashished in november , my gallery in milano[ PACK are publishing it with Damiani in bologna , is going to look fantastic , my friend paul khera is design it , and is ammaizing to work with him.
there is going to be a launch at the opening of the exibhition THE BLACK PERIOD that im doing there . this will be on the 16 november and i asume some other related event , which i will post here .
beuy is much better now after been very sick few weeks back .
going to italy for few weeks , beuy will also come , has i just passed my driving test i will go by car with a friends . and imhave been driving on m y own for the last few days ,

i started to take stock of what i have been up to in the last month , whent to italy by van with my friend carlos to take some work to milano and verona , seen gianmaria and gianpaolo just before they went in hollidays , but not before some strong negroni at the tratuar in milano, my friend julie and killer fron NYC where here and it was great to see them , also jorge from san francisco poped in , hung around with the sisters [ jasmine and sususu , meet theyr mother , a very nice lady ] whent to moti roti open at the serpentine gallery , and rolf the " fuck buddy " has came and gone , now im concentrating in passing my driving test in 2 weeks time from now and looking forward for my new book to be published in november in italy , my friend paul is design it as im writting this , he has done all my previous book with black dog publishing .
also ther will be an exibhition of new painting in milano with galleria pack , date to be confirmed .

been a way to wysing arts centre near cambridge , with the 10 artist that im mentoring in 2006, it was really really great . back now in london and i miss them a bit and also i realized that i would love to live in the country side now especialy with beuy [ my dog ]
back in london and last nigth i played at hardon , my friend suzie s & m club , she was not happy with what i was playng as she kept asking me to play it lighter , or more funky .[ the problem been that the dj before me was playng shitty house music for sad muscles marry's like him ,, yes the floor clared by the time i played my second tune but i was not suprise by it , so i decide now that i will not play any more in a gay club in london again as people here seems spoiled with shity house miusic for too long now .
any way back to my week a way in the country side in cambridgshire .
people work and openes was generaly very good .

My name is Kerrie-Leigh Aisbitt and i am currently a student at
coventry
university sitting my final year in Theatre and Professional Practice.
Being
my final year i will soon be writting my dissertation and have decided
to
focuss on Performance art and Masochistic theatre. It is really my
first
insight into this kind of work, i guess im what you would call a
mainstrem
theatre girl, my preference being Music theatre, but after a lecture
(that i
missed) on performance art i researched it a little and found myself
fascinated. In honestly i find some of the work extremely difficult to
look
at, and in a discussion held by me and a few friends i found myself
siding
with thoses who were sickened by it but inwardly i knew this not to be
my
truth.
My question to you sir is this, what do you think it is about our 'now'
that
encourages this work? I understand that this is not a new thing but it
is
emerging more and more and i would be delighted to here your views on
why
this is?

dear friends blogers , took my first ever driving test and i failled , the ezaminer told me that i drove well [ eh? ] yes but i was too esitant at roud abauts..
it was a nerve wracking experience..
any way i will take another test on the 5 septhember now. so i better be better by then..
apart from this ,, whent to the doctor to be told that they have lost my blood sample at the hospital , wherer i did some blood taking to see how well i m. so more blood taking .
yestedaay my friends ron from LA and dominique from london , visitited me at my studio , where i shown them some new paintings wich they like . , then went to the park near my studio with beuy. it was very hot and there where some hot guys sun baithing. beuy had fun. here some pic

spend the last 4 days in padulla [ salerno, italy ] it was very hot and meet a lot of people and specialy made a new great friend [ matteo basile] he is not gay ] hahaha
he is very funny and a a very good artist . he lives in roma and im looking forward to go to see him .

we where both part of this nigth of event organized by achille bonito oliva , and thanks to gianpaolo and martina that i was there making a new piece of work performance , herman nitch also was there and it was great to bump in to him again after a few years not seen him. he was veryy nice and warm.
also meet victor and angelo and andrea , lorenzo , and also alesandro that lives in new york city that i have not seen for few years , he was doing his foundation at chelsea arfts scholl when i was on my last year at chelsea arts shool. and really lost touch with him ..
any way padulla was a great esperience for me , my performace went well ..

whent to PSI human rigth event here in london organied by the live art agency and queens mary . this was the last day .
seen an amaizing performance by guilliermo gomez pena and roberto sifuentes and many collaboretors , the performance was COMMUNITY RITUALS FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM took some pic of the performance [ but only put a couple photos here that i know the artists envolved won't mind me publishing them here ] the audience [ some cute boys ' but NICK [ you know who you are ] you are the cuttest one . ] and performance , the performance is very difficult to describe to some one that was not there ,, but was very moving for me in many many ways.. i felt that this was almost like a funeral .. very sad but also very life empowering .. so when i say a funerl is not neccessarly a negative things but as some kind of reality / realization--- after this we went to see this " boy" band , put toghether by richard de dominici , the band consisted of 4 boy that are asylum seekers, they name was STATUS and did 1 song and everybody where acting like if they where 12 years old again . it was a very strange esperience ,and i have a mix feeling about it , but i know that richard has integrity.. but i could not stop thinking about what is they life will be now .. has they are actualy waitng to see if they can stay here in the UK ... also i put a foto of lois keidan here but has i know she hate her foto been taken so you will only get some of her but not her face . but also i want to take this opportunity to thank her and daniel and andrew at the live art agency and lois weaver at queen mary's for putting this togheter ..

been a crazy week , seen my friend jemmifer from los angeles , did a conference at PSI at queens mary university in london , also with amelia jones and nao bustmaante , this was great , beuy was in the audience and he was very patient , my co-panelist where great and it was a honor to be with them.

well well where to start , went to milano , italy for a dj gig at the mixed media event , a digital installation and architecture one could say , it was fantastic [ got a bit drunk ] but i think i kept it togheter when i played from about 11pm to 1.30 am .. the other artist on the same evening where where very good , oto lab and teZ especialy , thanks to tina for vj while i was playng . shee was good ] bibbo . marco oto lab , and especialy all the cutes boys screaming during my dj set.
the festival [ this was the third day ] was very good , the setting was also very fantastic with the anselm keiffer massive towers installed there .
the day after i went to verona [ another city] by train , on the train there was a betyfull ' anty nazy skineaed type 'in to SKA i think , judging from his hand bag] [ we din't talk . but i wanted to,, but i think he was a bit shy [ let say] i could not stop thinking about him and i wish i had the courage to say something.. he got out in brescia a city before verona and also where i spended my first 7 years of my life there in an orphanige..
in verona i now have a studio /laboratory . where i willbe spending more time after august this year to produce work.
my friend susie come from bristol and people assumed that she was my wife .
this was funny and we played this a bit . we also went with my good friend riccardo to puglia in the south of italy in the country side , this was fun too. we eat a lot .

Achille Bonito Oliva commenta: con Fresco Bosco si assiste all’affascinante sfondamento della Certosa verso il Parco.

Dal tramonto all’alba, nella notte tra il 23 e il 24 giugno 2006 nel grande parco della Certosa di San Lorenzo a Padula si apre la mostra con la straordinaria manifestazione dal titolo Una Notte di Arte Totale "inaugura" Fresco Bosco. Si tratta di un percorso multisensoriale ricco di suggestioni con eventi teatrali, poetici, musicali, artistici, performances, sculture e installazioni che segnano lo spazio verde circostante e danno luogo a sorprese estetiche e a inedite sequenze visive.
L'evento promosso dalla Soprintendenza di Salerno e Avellino, curato da Achille Bonito Oliva aderisce al progetto Eventi in...Campania, realizzato con i fondi della Regione Campania.

Fresco Bosco è un’operazione artistica fortemente innovativa che determina lo sconfinamento dell'arte dall’interno della Certosa, agli spazi esterni del Parco.
Sculture e installazioni di grandi dimensioni daranno nuova vita alle aree verdi della Certosa e tra queste: tre figure in dialogo di Gianni Dessì; la scultura in pietra e iscrizioni in oro di Braco Dimitrijvic; due sculture in bronzo di Giuseppe Gallo; sei grandi stendardi di Angelo Plessas; il graffito di Luisa Rabbia eseguito nelle cavità sotterranee; la Madonna di Alfredo Romano realizzata in materiale catarifrangente; l’installazione in vetro di Costantino Svarotsos; la scultura conica in ferro con una forma girevole di Ernesto Tatafiore.

Dopo il grande successo di critica e di pubblico della mostra triennale Le Opere e i Giorni, che ha creato una significativa collezione permanente di arte contemporanea all'interno della Certosa, le creazioni artistiche di Fresco Bosco ne arricchiranno il patrimonio: sculture e installazioni rimarranno esposte in permanenza nel Parco e un video testimonierà le azioni teatrali, musicali e le performances della notte inaugurale. Dopo gli interventi sul paesaggio realizzati nelle due edizioni di Ortus Artis, Fresco Bosco effettua un’azione di sconfinamento delle opere dalla Certosa nel Parco che la circonda.

Una Notte di Arte Totale "inaugura" Fresco Bosco
Tre “pifferai magici”: un artista che gioca con la parola Alessandro Bergonzoni, un creativo Antonio Rezza e un’attrice Alessandra Vanzi accompagneranno i visitatori nei circuiti di questa esperienza di arte totale, proponendo al pubblico tre diversi modi di guardare attraverso il caleidoscopio artistico che trasforma il parco della Certosa in un ambiente interattivo, in un momento di incontro, in un luogo di narrazione.
Entrare e immergersi in un bosco di sera sarà un’emozione: la manifestazione condurrà lo spettatore in un esempio concreto di teatro-natura, ricco di profondi contenuti.

Hermann Nitsch, in collaborazione con la Fondazione Morra, svolgerà un’azione concerto lungo i viali e i sentieri dell’intera area e ovunque si ascolterà musica di banda, con la partecipazione di più orchestre e gruppi musicali.
Le azioni teatrali saranno scandite da sensazioni olfattive e gustative acquisite nel laboratorio situato nel Casone della Certosa dove saranno a disposizione campioni di odori e sapori, con il consigli o di prenderne uno alla volta, come avviene nel rito eucaristico della consacrazione del pane. Il protagonista è lo spettatore partecipante, il processo corrisponde alla ricerca del sé: la mistica dell’essere conduce

all’illuminazione, al risveglio, all’esserci. Il culmine dell’azione drammatica sarà la simulazione di una sorta di messa che si trasformerà in una festa orgiastica che libererà da ogni antico trauma: uno scontro esplosivo di unione di energie.
Il rumore estremo di tutte le orchestre, collocate nel primo tratto del parco, diventerà unico, gigantesco grido insopportabile, estasi del suono che sancirà il raggiungimento della consapevolezza e farà rinascere il senso della pienezza della vita. Il cosmo si schiuderà nel cuore di ognuno e lo spettacolo si tramuterà in una festa i cui partecipanti saranno resuscitati nella trascendenza: giubileo e gioia ovunque.
Nello spazio antistante la Cappella del parco Nitsch e gli attori getteranno del sangue su tele e carte, quindi metteranno in scena un’azione con le interiora di un animale squartato. Una rielaborazione dell’offerta sacrificale a simboleggiare l’eccesso della morte.

Un’orchestra di fiati e archi di 30 elementi si aggirerà per i viali del parco in più direzioni e nel corso della notte si parteciperà a una fiaccolata.

Antonio Rezza e Flavia Mastrella eseguiranno la performance “Facciamo prendere aria al teatro”: i quadri di scena saranno sospesi in aria con fili colorati e lo spazio sarà illuminato da numerose luci situate sugli alberi circostanti.

Il viale dei cipressi diventerà la scenografia dello spettacolo “Agogno la gogna”, ideato e diretto da Alfonso Benadduce con Francesca Cutolo e Benedetta Cesqui: qui gli artisti si aggireranno lungo il viale duellando e vagando nudi in corteo con quadri appesi al collo, ricevendo in faccia gli sputi dei fiori. Infine raggiungeranno la gogna, posta in posizione sopraelevata.

Il gruppo Teatro Natura metterà in scena lo spettacolo itinerante “Demetra e Persefone”, ispirato alla storia del rapimento di Persefone da parte del Dio della morte e del pellegrinaggio di Demetra, dea della natura e madre inconsolabile, alla ricerca della figlia perduta. La narrazione scivola lungo il fiume del canto a due voci che accompagna il dipanarsi della vicenda. Alle parole del racconto si mescolano la percezione dei rumori e dei suoni del bosco; i personaggi evocati dalla narrazione, accompagnata da canti polifonici della tradizione orale mediterranea, prendono le sembianze di ombre vaghe e mutevoli che la notte suggerisce. Lo spettacolo sottolinea l’eterno mito e mistero della natura.

Zhang Huan e Franko-B, in collaborazione con la Galleria Pack e il coordinamento di Martina Cavallarin, saranno i protagonisti di una performance negli ambienti circostante lo scalone monumentale, mentre Antonio Caggiano animerà il bosco che costeggia le celle con musica elettronica.

In varie zone del parco verranno allestiti dei punti di ristoro dove saranno distribuiti cibi e bevande calde. In alcuni spazi sarà possibile contemplare la notte e osservare il cielo stellato. Un sintetizzatore accompagnerà l’attesa della nascita del nuovo giorno con “musica d’alba”.

after finishing dj at the party in soho we whent to Family in curtain strret , it was crazy to get in , but we managed thanks to sasha [ he runs kokon with his patner marion ] kokon and family [ the club ] where doing the club event toghether , it was quaet crazy but fun and a few cute boy , especialy james [ i think this is his name [ here a pic of him[ the first boy one ] and bjork played a soprise dj set with her computer .. also a couple other foto with mewith a japponis boy and anes which did a brilliant set .

party at the celebration of the soho trendy fashion shop and also a very good reccords shop. i was asked to put some work in [ which i did ] and it looks good , the work will stay up for few months .

yesteday we [ me and my mentorees] had a social at my flat , it was quaet cosy , and beuy love it. we eat a lot especialy sweetts and talked about the mentoreeng scheme we are involved with at the moment [ which im the mentor for 1 year to 10 practicing artist in the uk ] this scheme will end the 31 november 06 and a new one will start with new artist in jannuary 2007. [ soon we will advertize it .

been a bit sad , due to how i feel about my ex , apart from that , try to get out to see thingssee friends etc etc wich take me to last moday evening when i when to see a friend [ laura ] work at the top of a church spiral , when i got there though it was not working but she sended me a photo of the piece wich was working after i left . [ apparently she swich it off by error ] any way here the pic , on my way home with beuy [ my dog ] took a couple pic from vaterlo bridge wich is near where i live ] this has to be one of my favourites london vew.

wenesday had a driwing lesson, [ have my practical exam on the 29 june ] and i don't feel ready yet ,
some crazy guy that i know come to pick up some work of mine for they shop for an installation there , one of the painting falled out of the back of the van and we din't realized this. till other car drivers where shouting at us..
thuesday i went to oxford to the rusking school or art where i did a lecture on my work and then did some tutorials. with student , they where great ,
the was a very cute blond boy there [ quaet posh ] i think most of them where .. any way he was very cute but he din't sign up to my tutorial , but spoke to me briefly about a student exibhition he did last year at the great eastern hotel, in london .
after the talk i noticed that he looked a bit scared , DONT BE SCARED MATE,
whent to the pub at lunch time with 2 of the theaching staf there and had a pleasent time with them and the rest of the day. got home araund 9pm and picked up beuy from my nice neughbors [ clare and phil ] has they looked after him for the day ,

In un momento storico in cui proliferano festival e rassegne legate all’applicazione artistica dei nuovi media e delle cosiddette nuove tecnologie, MixedMedia è un evento di cultura elettronica che non ambisce a fornire un panorama esaustivo delle pratiche e delle discipline che animano questo mondo in costante evoluzione, ma che si pone essenzialmente come momento di crescita del dialogo e del confronto intorno ai nuovi media.
Le quattro giornate dell'evento, attraverso mostre, incontri, seminari, concerti e ambienti visivi e sonori, vogliono quindi cercare di suggerire stimoli utili per stabilire percorsi e connessioni fra le parti, aiutando a individuare le modalità con cui il 'digitale' sta modificando le strutture culturali e le modalità percettive della società moderna.

From April 28 through May 5 2006, Ron Athey, Franko B, and Vaginal Davis come to New York for a series of premiere performances, lectures and events focusing on the unique way in which the work of all three artists challenges the separation between art and life.

In modern societies, the power of private experience is often filtered through the norms of social convention and the repression of difference. Ron Athey, Franko B, and Vaginal Davis challenge these constraints, sharing a commitment to artistic practices which transcend the boundaries of career, or marketplace and move into the space of life, or who they are. All three artists consider themselves marginalized for reasons ranging from race, to class, to sexuality, and have subsequently used their involvement in subcultural movements to develop and propel their work. As an integral part of their performance work, Ron Athey, Franko B, and Vaginal Davis all subject themselves to physical, cultural, and psychological challenges as a means to transform the conditions of the present, thus their work is able to function simultaneously as exorcism and an opportunity for healing.

collaboration with Obie and Bessie award winning set designer Michael
Casselli. Produced by Earl Dax Presents, with performances by the DJ
